Ramona Woman Dies After Being Struck By Pickup

Ramona Pedestrian Injury Lawyer — A 57-year-old woman died Thursday after being struck by a pickup while trying to cross state Route 67.

The woman was close to South Kalbaugh Street on the west side when she tried to cross about.  The woman walked in a 2001 Dodge Ram 250.  The truck was going about 40 m.p.h and traveling North.  According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman may have been drinking prior to the accident.

After accident the woman was transported to the hospital awake and alert with an ankle injury.  Unfortunately, she died the next day in the hospital from complications related to brain swelling.

Fortunately, the driver was not hurt.

Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased woman.

Our San Diego Pedestrian Auto Accident Lawyers want to remind you that as a pedestrian, you need to take special care when crossing the highway.  This is especially true when you have been drinking.  While it is not exactly clear if the woman was crossing at a cross walk (it appears she was not), it is also important that you cross only at cross walks.  Obviously in a collision between a pedestrian and an automobile, the automobile will typically win.
